Rena's scenic home/ a preview

I'm posting this for Rena to look at and comment on, but other's feel free to chime in.

This landscape is a little different from my traditional works. Rena wanted to incorporate both the inside and outside of the home in the print so I created a scene where she could look out at her home from her livingroom. But I will continue to fiddle around.

Rock and Roll Wedding

This was one of my favorite wedding experiences. It was completely chaotic and there was no schedule to follow but the details were beautiful and the people were so much fun. The getting ready shots were at the Marriot in Iowa City, the ceremony was at the Friends Church in West Branch and the reception was at a prairie reserve east of Iowa City. The bride had a beautiful son and daughter and I loved photographing them. And the couple actually spent a lot of time around each other, making it easier to capture pretty candid pics.

Merkle-Carrasco Wedding

I assisted on this wedding on August 1, an absolutely beautiful day. The couple were friends of a friend so I was excited to be part of the day. The ceremony was at Preucil School. We took the formals out back of the school against a lovely wooded area and contrary to my last post about formal shots.. these were some of my favorite shots from the wedding. The reception was at the Quality Inn and very fun and relaxed. The couple thanked us publicly during their speech and my mouth dropped. It felt great to be recognized.

Oh, Nelle and Eric were at the wedding and the camera loves them. So do I.

The beginning of something.

I recently photographed a beautiful home for some friends of the family, with the intention of creating an illusional landscape like I've done in the past. Here are the initial images. The final product will follow sometime in August.

Maquoketa: Adventure Iowa

John and I went for a little jaunt in Maquoketa, Ia. After briefly panicking when Garmin lead us astray on to a VERY unkept road, we arrived relatively unscathed at a little piece of paradise. The caves were beautiful, cool and dare I say – rugged. Here is what I took from the day. I published a photo essay with captions in the Little Village this month. Check it out. I don't think it's on the interweb..... but find it in print at many Iowa City locations.
